New Elpo DC Rectifier Concept for Vauxhall Motors-Ellesmere Port
CATS in conjunction with Siemens successfully complete the installation and software controls of a new concept in Elpo DC Rectifier control systems.
The new system utilises 16 off Siemens SimoReg DC Master drives instead of the normal one off DC rectifier.
Each drive feeds 2 off Anolyte Cells and the DC supply is controlled via voltage setpoints and current limits for each pair of cells.
The system was controlled and monitored via an Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLC with Siemens SimoReg drives and ET200S remote I/O on DeviceNet, together with a Siemens MP 370 for the operator interface.
The control system was the first one to be installed at Vauxhall Motors using the latest General Motors GCCL & GCCS standards.

CATS in conjunction with Durr UK Ltd won the contract for the installation of 18 off pedestal type robots for the New Bumper Paintshop for Honda -Swindon.
Installation of 8 off Robots in Paintshop No 1 for Honda-Swindon
CATS in conjunction with Durr UK Ltd won the contract for the installation of 8 off pedestal type robots for Paintshop for Honda -Swindon. The project also involves the strip-out of the existing paint machines and associated controls, prior to the installation of new robots.
Error Proofing System for Vauxhall Motors-Ellesmere Port
CATS successfully designed, built and installed a new error proofing system for Vauxhall Motors-Ellesmere Port.
The system is controlled via an Allen Bradley SLC500 PLC with a PanelView PV1000 operator interface. Bins were also supplied and installed which contains the relevant parts. Banner lightguards were fitted to each bin to ensure that the correct part was picked for the job.
